I’m Walker Kornfeld, a ghostwriter and editor with eight years of professional experience across fiction, memoir, and nonfiction.
For four years I served as Lead Writer at a boutique fiction ghostwriting agency, where I ghostwrote and developed dozens of manuscripts across genres, from literary and speculative fiction to children’s adventure, philosophical fable, and faith-based nonfiction. In that role, I handled every phase of the manuscript lifecycle: concepting, outlining, drafting, and editing. I also performed developmental analysis and creative consulting on projects written by other ghostwriters, evaluating story structure, identifying problems, and working collaboratively with the editorial team to develop the strongest possible solutions.
That experience taught me how agencies work from the inside. How projects move from concept to delivery, how editorial feedback gets translated into creative direction, and how to maintain quality and consistency across a high volume of work under tight timelines.
Today, through Watchword Ghostwriting and Editorial Services, I work directly with authors, executives, and organizations who need a skilled collaborator. My specialties are memoir and fiction, though I take on select nonfiction projects where the material demands strong narrative craft. My services span ghostwriting, developmental editing, book coaching, line editing, and manuscript evaluation.
My editorial practice is grounded in the Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster, and I bring a clarity-first approach to every manuscript I touch. Whether I’m ghostwriting a full-length memoir from interview transcripts, performing a structural overhaul on a novel, or coaching an author through the creative decisions that will shape their next draft, my goal is the same. I strive to deliver work that serves the story, respects the audience, and honors the author’s vision.
